Awards

Annually, NHSTA honors notable NH educators with awards at our Fall and Spring Conferences. We also include resources to other outside organization awards available to science and STEM teachers. 

Novice Science Educator

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, knowledge and passion through leadership


  • Applied knowledge of standards and researched- based instruction and assessment strategies in their classroom


  • Demonstrates abilities that make science meaningful to students, sought out information and experience in the field of science in an effort to further academic understanding

Experienced Science Educator

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, knowledge and passion through leadership in their educational setting
  • Applies knowledge of standards and research-based instructional and assessment strategies in their classroom
  • Demonstrates abilities that make science meaningful to students
  • Offers collegiality to fellow science educators by participating in opportunities to enhance the culture and climate of an educational community
  • Participates in district, regional, state or national science organizations and is involved with the science educational community through membership

Wagner Award


  • Recognizes outstanding individuals who have made outstanding contributions to science education which go beyond excellence in the classroom
  • Recipients must have an association with New Hampshire and their work must have a broad and lasting effect
  • Award is selected by the NHSTA board and awardee selection is based entirely upon "recognition of outstanding contributions to science education in New Hampshire.
