MEet Our Board of Directors

President

   Joanne has served as a board member since 2015. A veteran teacher of more than 30 years, Joanne has served on state committees for the DOE, been a presenter at the AGU Fall Conference, is a 2019 Toshiba America grant recipient, and is a co-chair for the Elementary Summer Science Institute. 






Treasurer

Jay Fisher

   Jay is a farmer using Percheron horses in Charlestown and teaches Biology, Environmental Studies, Anatomy and Physiology, AP Biology, and is an adjunct professor at River Valley CC. His farm produces hay, veggies, meats, maple syrup, wood, as well as wagon and sleigh rides. 




Historian

Leslie McRobie

   Leslie has been a board member since 1981, including two terms as President, served as District Director for NSTA, and supported STEAM initiatives at all levels. Now retired, she remains a passionate proponent of science and engineering education at the elementary level.



Board Member

Daniel Reidy

   Dan is a 30 year veteran of being a Science and Social Studies semi-specialist in the 5th and 6th grade classrooms, as well as an 8th grade Earth and Space Science Teacher. Currently, he is a 5th grade teacher at Inter-Lakes Elementary School in Meredith. Dan is a former NHSTA President and was also a Christa McAuliffe Sabbatical Fellow. He authored a website on the geology of NH for the students, teachers and general public while on sabbatical.  


Board Member

Carol Edmonds

   Carol has taught in public schools for 42 years. Before retiring, she was a district science facilitator and active in science training, science curriculum and learning. Her interests include STEM, inquiry and science for the youngest learners. 


1st Vice President

  Tiffany joined the board in 2022, and is a high school science teacher covering topics including Chemistry, Physical Science, Forensic Science, and Pharmacology. She has developed curriculum and led projects in conjunction with UNH Tech Camp since 2015. 

  


Secretary

Rich Choate

   Rich has been a director since 2017. With degrees in Wildlife Biology and Resource Management, Rich has taught Science in public schools, as well as for NH Audubon and the Aloha Foundation. He has recently retired after 35 years of teaching. 


Past President

Lisa Marshall

   Lisa has been active on the NHSTA board since 2014. She is a PhD candidate and adjunct faculty at Lesley University researching leadership in STEM Education.




Board Member

Lara Gengarelly

   Lara joined the board in 2019. She is a UNH Extension State Specialist and Affiliate Professor at the UNH Leitzel Center in the area of Science Literacy. She designs and directs professional development programs for K-12 science teachers and informal educators.




2nd Vice President

Robert "Archie" Schroeder

  Archie has been on the board of directors since he was a pup. He taught 4th grade at Swasey Elementary School in Brentwood. He recently received the Wagner Award for his outstanding contributions to New Hampshire Science teaching.  



Communications Officer

Kyle Plante

   Kyle works as a science educator at multiple institutions in NH. He joined the board in 2022. He enjoys the outdoors, Boston sports, UNH Football and hockey, and spending quality time with his two beagles, Naahla and Sparky.




Board Member

Brewster Bartlett

   Brewster has been on the board since his first road kill. He is recently retired from Pinkerton Academy, but continues teaching everywhere he can!

Donna Collins

   Donna is a middle school teacher who has degrees in Forest Technology, Computer Programming, and a Master's in Education from UNH. She was nominated three times for the NH Catholic Schools Teacher of the Year. Donna enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband and two greyhounds. 





Board Member

Ben Ramsey

Ben teaches high school science at Raymond High School, in Raymond New Hampshire.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Rachael and beagle Bella.
